After taking hold of a bye in the coming TB playoffs I find myself dreaming of the return of the elves.

Sure death and death and more death if fine but the brute finese of the Skulls has reminded me of many glory days.

What say you poundfist?  Should we continue to drink and talk of the glory days or revive them with a solid chance that the new world will smash us to bits!

Goofs vs. Heathens. Thursday night @ Tony's. I'm down 2 Sauri, he's down a good Mummy and a Wight. I won't have Morg but Slibli will be back on the team for a 3rd game in a row. Goofs are ready for the final stretch and a chance to take down the soul seller.

Well, if the Dragons are going to do it at all it's going to have to be this year. I have practically everything I could ever hope for on a Dwarf team without luck. No ST+1's or AG4's, but 7 Mighty Blows, 6 Guards, 3 Diving Tackles, Dump Off, 5 Rerolls and a Deathroller. Much after this and another season and my Team Value is just going to get ridiculous. Looking forward to Cup Day.

My hoped for playoff matches:

1. Jing's Rabies Rush

2. Tony's Heathens

The Elvz from the Hood finished a strong 7-3-0 this season. 

Game 9 against the Set's Sentinels was a 4-1 slaughter. Nuffle must hate those Lizards.  They had one solid drive causing a couple casualties (nothing serious or that our apothecary couldn't fix), a KO, and scoring a TD, but every other drive any and every bobble of the ball or crash of players went in the Elvz favour.

Game 10 against the Dead Menace started with strong first half for the Elvz who got a 2-0 lead going into half-time but then the pain began.  The three top players from the Elvz (Wild Bill, Hideous Hugh, and Clif Crasher, worth almost 500K between them) all suffered serious injuries.  The Dead Menace score one TD to bring the game in tight, but in the end the Elvz were saved by the bell.

Right now we're just focusing on the playoffs.  Our players are being given the rest they need so we can have everyone back on the pitch for our next game. 

The standings were close going into the week 10 match ups.  Our understanding is that the results off the Steel Dragons game will determine who gets the last bye in B league.  If the Steel Dragons do not win, the Elvz should get it, otherwise we will have to play a qualifying match.  We are eagerly waiting the league's final decisions on any outstanding matches.

I feel like I'm Markus Naslund leading the Canucks.

Heading into game 10, I was 8-0-1 with finishing as the top seed in C-League under my control. Instead of securing top spot, I got my ass kicked by DarkAngelDave and his late-blooming Necro.

What bugs me isn't that:

• I blew a shot at my second touchdown (and atleast a draw) by triple-skulling with my mino
• Dave scored the winning TD on turn 16 with Flesh Golem who dodged and GFI'd for the score!
• I dropped from 1st seed to 4th seed in 4 turns
• I gained almost no SPP at all to recover for cup day

Nope, what bugs me is that Dave killed my ogre (Elephantitis-apoth failed to a still dead!) and star blitzer (Chlamydia) and -MA'd another marauder! I didn't just loose seeding, I lost part of the core of my team.

What a crap sandwich to chew on before heading into the playoffs!

I actually wish I'd dropped all the way to #5 seed so I could rebuild a bit in round twelve rather than go straight into the postseason without money or SPP to make up for the losses.

Bah. I can only hope that Nuffle uniformly hoops the round of twelve teams appropriately and that the top team to emerge from that round is seriously bloodied before our match.

DarkAngelDave: well-played man. I don't begrudge the loss, just the timing. Good luck against the 'Flings and I hope we get a rematch on cup day (albeit, after Treemen have had their way with your skilled players).
